Object:
The object of these rules is to regulate the granting of aid to encourage projects of industrial research and experimental development by SMEs involving the exploitation of a patent or an external source acquired patent license.
Types of eligible projects:
2.1 may subsidise the projects of industrial research and experimental development involving the exploitation of a patent or an external source acquired patent license.
The valid period of acquisition of the patent or patent license that is included in the r & d project starts as late 3 months before the application for aid, ending at the finish date of the project.
At the time of the acquisition of the patent, or the patent license, the applicant company this patent can be international or can be in the priority application phase, but on completion of the project should have acquired patent or patent, international license status.
For the purposes of this call means that a patent has acquired international status if there is a published patent document in any country which is not Spain (or in the case that is not yet published patent, is carried out the payment of the fees for the application via PCT patent or European patent).
Means industrial research planned research or critical studies for the acquisition of new knowledge and skills to develop new products, processes or services or significantly improve the existing ones. These activities may consist, for example, in the creation of components of complex systems; in the construction of prototypes in a lab environment or an environment with simulated interfaces with existing systems; or in pilot lines for generic technology validation.
Experimental development means the acquisition, combination, configuration and use of knowledge and existing techniques, scientific, technological, entrepreneurial in nature or otherwise, in view of the development of products, processes, or new or improved services. May include, for example, conceptual definition, planning and documentation of new products, processes or services; creation of prototypes, demonstration, development of pilot projects, testing and validation of products,
processes or new or improved services in environments representative of actual operating conditions. The main goal should be to provide new technical improvements to products, processes or services. It does not include routine or periodic changes made to products, production lines, manufacturing processes, existing services and other ongoing operations, even if such changes may represent improvements in them.
2.2 the overall budget agreed project shall be an amount exceeding 30,000 Euros.
2.3. the projects submitted to obtain such aid shall start from the date of submission of the grant application and should end in a period of 2 years; There is the possibility of requesting an extension of the period on the basis of the provisions of article 49 of the law 30/1992, of the legal regime of public administrations and common administrative procedure.
2.4. the projects must be framed in the sectors and cross-cutting enabling technologies identified in specialist RIS3CAT strategy detailed in the preamble. This information can consult and expand on: http://catalunya2020.gencat.cat/ca/ris3cat/
2.5. the projects must be technically and financially viable.
2.6. the projects shall carry out in Catalonia.
Aid intensity:
5.1. in accordance with the Community rules on State aid, in particular the EU Regulation No.
651/2014 of the Committee, on 17 June 2014, by which declare certain categories of aid compatible with the internal market in application of articles 107 and 108 of the Treaty (hereinafter RGEC), the maximum intensities are:
Small enterprise medium enterprise
Industrial research 70% 60%
Experimental development 45% 35%
5.2. in no case shall be granted an aid of an amount exceeding 50,000 euros.
