Industry connected 4.0 aims to promote the digitalization of the Spanish industry and provide strategy companies, initiatives and actions that help them in their transformation.

This initiative has three objectives: increase the industrial added value and employment in the sector; encourage the Spanish model for the industry of the future and develop the local supply of digital solutions; develop differential competitive levers to promote Spanish industry and boost exports. Markets are increasingly globalised, demanding and competitive, and the industry has to adapt and undertake digitization processes to maintain competitive positions. Multiplication of connectivity, the emergence of new technologies like cloud computing, internet of things, big data or the sensor, allow that the industry can address this challenge, reaching the fourth industrial revolution. This opportunity involves a radical change that offers a great opportunity of transformation and evolution that should be leveraged to Spain and the Spanish industry. The industry has a multiplier effect that extends to areas such as research and development of technology-based services and is, therefore, guaranteed growth, employment of quality, competitiveness and prosperity

Although final initiative the conclusions and the report will be presented in September, the four lines of action have been advanced to facilitate the change of the Spanish model to the industry 4.0:-awareness-raising and training on digitization in the industry to know its benefits and develop the necessary skills. -Creation of environments and collaboration tools, which facilitate the transfer between industry and technology providers. -Consolidation of the new technologies in Spain, promoting r & d funding, defining standards and forge international alliances. -Support to the implementation of the new digital technologies, with the objective of overcoming the barriers to its implementation

The term ‘4.0’ refers to the fourth industrial revolution driven by the digital transformation and represents a qualitative leap in the Organization and management of the value chain of the sector. The first revolution came marked by the transition from craft production to the development of machinery and manufacturing on a larger scale. The second, by the use of electrical energy and mass production on assembly lines. The third, by the manufacturing automation and computerization of the industrial enterprises. And this fourth revolution is determined by the great advances in technology.
