Strategic objectives:
1 strengthen the competitiveness of the business sector by improving the efficiency of production processes, internationalization and the reorientation of the sectors bound to more value-added activities.
2 promote new economic activities emerging from the research, creativity and innovation, to create and new market niches.
3 consolidate Catalonia as a European pole of knowledge and connect the creative and technological capabilities with existing and emerging sectors of the territory.
4 improve the catalan innovation system globally, strengthen the competitiveness of enterprises, particularly SMEs, and guide public policies towards the promotion of innovation, internationalization and entrepreneurship.
Types of projects:
2.1. projects in the form of industrial research and experimental development local, individual or collaborative, cores destined to encourage activities of industrial research and experimental development, made in Catalonia and who behave obtaining products and processes new or improved technologically with respect to existing.
Projects must have a minimum eligible expenditure of:
(a) for projects presented individually: EUR 150,000.
(b) for the projects presented collaboratively: 500,000 euros. Shall not be considered eligible collaborative projects in which an entity participates in more than 70% of the eligible expenditure for the project.
The projects presented in a collaborative way must be formed by how at least two non-related companies. A collaborative project participants must sign an agreement of association which shall designate one of the participants as the project leader.
International companies may be part of projects provided that its contribution of added value to the project stating duly accredited in the supporting memory and the project is done in Catalonia. These companies only may be considered beneficiaries of aid if they have an establishment operating in Catalonia.
2.2 participation of Catalan companies involved in r & d projects in the form of centres of international industrial research and experimental development, intended to encourage the realization of activities that are carried out in Catalonia and who behave obtaining products and processes new or improved technologically with respect to existing industrial research and experimental development.
The Catalan participation in the international project can be both one and several companies; This participation, in total, shall have a minimum eligible eligible expenditure of EUR 150,000. In the case of participation of several companies, are not considered as eligible projects in which an entity participates in more than 70% of the eligible expenditure eligible for the project.
In the event that more than one Catalan company to participate in the international project (European era-NET, bilateral programmes), only a grant application, in which one of the companies will appear as applicant and the rest as participants will be presented.
The modalities of r & d project in the form of international industrial research and experimental development cores shall be as follows:
(a) projects of the European era-NET program:
- projects that have been considered as eligible in international calls era-net of the European era-NET MANUNET II (projects of r & d in the field of manufacturing) programme. These projects should be conducted jointly by groups of companies regulated by an agreement of Association and necessarily formed by at least two non-related companies (one with operational establishment in Catalonia and one of a region / not Spanish participating country in the corresponding program), to develop the project and to participate in its financing in the case of the company with operational establishment in Catalonia to be eligible expenditure.
- projects which have been submitted to the international call for era-net of the European programme ERANet TRANSPORT (projects of r & d in the field of transport and in particular «Sustainable Logistics and Supply Chains») http://transport-era.net/news/news/position-paper. These projects should be conducted jointly by groups of companies, regulated by an agreement of Association and necessarily formed by at least three non-related companies (one with operational establishment in Catalonia and)
(the other two in a region / a not Spanish participating country in the corresponding program), to develop the project and to participate in its financing, which in the case of the company with operational establishment in Catalonia must be eligible expenditure.
- b) projects of bilateral programmes.
Funding:
Subsidies that regulate these bases are funded by competitive grants with the ERDF, within the framework of the PO FEDER of Catalonia 2014-2020. The maximum rate of co-financing of the eligible expenditure is 50%.
Application date: until July 30, 2015. Except ERANet TRANSPORT which will be from October 5 to November 5, 2015.
