The aid program for the realization of innovative eco-design and circular economy projects in the Basque industry aims to increase the efficiency of materials in the industry and boost the durability and eco-design of products through innovation. These constitute the key axes of the Circular Economy Strategy of the Basque Country 2030.
The call integrates three lines of support:
- Demonstration in circular economy
In line 1 Ecodesign and line 2 Demonstration in circular economy, private companies, preferably from the industrial sector, including the food, construction and packaging and packaging industry, as well as advanced repair services, will be able to access the aid and other services related to the industrial sector that meet the requirements contained in the bases.
In line 3 Eco-innovation, private companies will be able to access, as well as the members of the Basque Science, Technology and Innovation Network whose result of innovation has a vocation to market with a potential impact on the indicators in Annex VI and that comply with the requirements contained in the bases.
- Personnel costs.
- Trial costs.
- The costs of materials and supplies.
- The costs of supplementary expenses.
- The costs of external advice.
- The costs of instruments and equipment.
The aid intensity will be 25% of the amount of the project, in accordance with the criteria of Regulation No 651/2014 of the European Commission and may be increased in the following cases:
- 10% in the case of medium-sized companies and 20% in the case of small businesses.
- 15% if any of the following conditions are met:
o That the project implies an effective collaboration between companies, being at least one SME or being developed in at least two member states and no company runs on its own with more than 70% of the eligible costs; or between a company and one or several research and knowledge dissemination organizations, assuming at least 10% of the eligible costs and having the right to publish the results of their own research.
o That the results of the project are widely disseminated through conferences, publications, open access bases or free or open source software. Consequently, the intensity of the aid will reach up to 60% of the eligible costs for small businesses, 50% for medium-sized companies and 40% for large companies.
